What Is NCF? What Is NCF Cost?
NCF also called as Network Capacity Fee is the amount charged to the DTH subscriber/customer by the company. This amount is charged for the distribution of the network capacity of the TV channel subscribed by the subscriber or the end customer.
The NCF (Network Capacity Fee) does not include the subscription fee of the paid channels or the bouquet of the pay channels.
Under the new TRAI rule, each DTH or cable subscriber has to pay Network Capacity Fee for first 100 SD (standard definition) TV channels. These 100 channels include the FTA (free to air) channels as well as the Pay channels. Whereas for the paid channels, the customer will be charged the subscription fee on the top of NCF.
Here is an example to make this NCF Cost clear:-
NCF = Rs 130
Tax On NCF (GST) = Rs. 23.4
Total NCF Cost (paid by the subscriber) = Rs 130 + Rs 23.4 = Rs 154.4
Charge for 25 additional channels = Rs 20 + Rs 2.60 (GST) = Rs 23.60
So total amount including NCF (includes 100 channels) & additional 25 paid channels is Rs 178
