Pongal Holidays 2020 Tamil Nadu, Pongal Holidays for Schools in Tamil Nadu 2020: Pongal also popularly known as Thai Pongal is a Hindu harvest festival of South India. It is the most important festival in Tamil Nadu among the Tamil community. It is observed at the start of the month Tai according to the Tamil solar calendar.
On the occasion of the Pongal Festival, Thiruvalluvar Day, and Uzhavar Thirunal, the Tamil Nadu government has announced three days long holiday. Starting from 15th January 2020 until 17th January 2020, all the schools, colleges, banks and government offices are scheduled to be closed.
